My first beach-day sugar mission started with a cinnamon roll inside a flea market, and I haven’t recovered since. North Myrtle Beach runs on beach traffic and breakfast lines, but the bakeries here punch well above their strip-mall weight.

You can grab a pistachio muffin from a grocery store deli or a delicate souffle pancake that requires a fork and your full attention. I even watched a baker teach pasta folding between cake orders, which feels very on-brand for this town.

The range goes from Dino’s dependable pancake stacks to Parlor’s herb-and-cheese donuts, so bring a cooler. Here’s where to start your own sugar coma.

Located inside flea market

Rollover Bakery sits inside a flea market, which feels odd until you taste the cinnamon rolls. They are perfection, warm and gooey with just the right amount of glaze. The staff is warm and helpful, even when the line gets long. Cash is preferred, but they do have a small fee for cards, so come prepared. I grabbed a few extra sweet snacks for the beach house, and they held up beautifully. It is not fancy, but it is honest. That counts for a lot. If you are already at the market, do not walk past without stopping.

Worth the North Myrtle drive

Butter and Whisk Co is a bit of a drive from the main strip, but it is worth every minute. Their cinnamon rolls are the best I have ever had, hands down. The texture is light, the icing is rich, and the flavor lingers. What surprised me most were the pasta-making classes. The instructors are passionate and clearly experts, guiding you through every fold. Classes sell out fast, so book ahead. The whole place has a warm, creative energy. I left with a new skill and a box of pastries. That is a good day.

Mainstreet Bakery and Eatery nails the basics with a cheerful twist. The coffee is solid, the donuts are fresh, and the breakfast sandwiches are hearty. What stands out are the gluten-free and vegan options. They are not an afterthought; they taste genuinely good. The staff is warm, and the space feels welcoming. I tried the cinnamon bun, and it was worth the calories, though I wished it had a bit more frosting. Still, everything I ordered had a sense of care. Love is baked into every bite, that is clear. I will be back.

Greek Delite Bakery and Cafe brings a Mediterranean touch to the beach. The homemade lasagna is hearty and rich, with layers of flavor you do not expect from a small bakery. The pistachio desserts are the star, though. They are not too sweet, with a nutty crunch that keeps you reaching for more. The ingredients taste clean and fresh, and the shop is spotless. It is a quick trip from the beach, and worth it. I paired a slice with Greek coffee and felt transported. A lovely, unexpected find.

Grandpa Moustache's Cheesecakes is a charming little shop with a big personality. The owner is friendly and genuinely helpful, offering samples without any pressure. The free counter samples are a smart move because you will buy more. The chocolate cheesecake is smooth, creamy, and pure indulgence. The butter pecan is lighter, with a lovely toasted flavor, not too sweet. You can buy a slice or a whole cake, and both are reasonably priced. It is a small place, but the service is top notch. I left with two slices and a smile.

Parlor Doughnuts is my favorite stop for a morning treat. The donuts are light, almost airy, and the flavors rotate, so there is always something new. The coffee selection pairs well, and they have great gluten-free options that do not taste like a compromise. The savory donuts stood out, especially with herbs and cheese. The staff is efficient and friendly, even during the morning rush. I tried four varieties and could not pick a favorite. That is the best problem to have. Highly recommend for any sweet or savory craving.

The staff goes above and beyond, checking in without hovering. It is a comfortable place for a relaxed meal. The bakery case up front is tempting, so save room. Or just take something to go. That is what I did.

The staff is friendly and happy to explain the menu. I also tried a few pastries, and they were fresh and flaky. It is a small spot, but it has a big heart. Perfect for a beach morning pick-me-up. Boulineau's IGA is a grocery store, but their bakery section deserves attention. The pistachio muffins are a must-try, moist with a crunchy top and real nut pieces. The staff is helpful, and the store is clean. They have a hot food and salad bar that is handy for lunch. The produce and seafood sections are fresh, too. Upstairs, there is a fun toy area that kept my kids entertained. It is not a traditional bakery, but the baked goods are solid. I stop here every visit for those muffins. Worth the detour.

Tasty cinnamon roll and dessert crepe

Souffle's is a quiet surprise. The staff is attentive and friendly, and they pour coffee refills without being asked, which earns instant loyalty. Their souffle pancakes are delicate, almost custard-like, and the poached eggs on top are cooked perfectly. The cinnamon roll is tasty, but the dessert crepe stole the show, light and not overly sweet. It feels more like a brunch spot than a bakery, but both sides shine. I left satisfied and a little sleepy. That is the best compliment I can give.
