Finding cheap seafood in Wilmington usually means dodging downtown markup. You want the real stuff, the kind locals actually eat.

From the blackened shrimp platter at Seaview’s Midtown market to the fried banana peppers at Anne Bonny’s, this list runs from market-counter casual to riverfront sit-downs. I’ve done the eating, and I left with collard greens on my mind and a to-go blueberry pie in my lap.

Your wallet will survive. Here’s where to go.

Seabird isn't cheap in the usual sense)Skip. But for the quality, it earns its place on a budget list. Erin took care of us like we were regulars. The seafood tower felt like a splurge, yet every oyster and shrimp tasted worth it. Smoked tuna Caesar salad? I'm still thinking about it. The signature hot sauce got bought on the spot. A little pricey, but a special treat that doesn't break the bank when you share.
